Euro Sports Compact Rules & Entry
Euro Sports Compact Entry & Construction Requirements
All cars running in the series are invited by the organizers. There is no automatic right to entry. Cars are selected on the basis that they are quick, safe, entertaining, well presented and competitive.
All cars must have a European body and a European engine (an engine that was available in a European marque) up to 6 cylinders. Engines must be overhead cam type or rotary.
FWD to 4WD conversions are allowed but not FWD to RWD. Drive conversions will probably not be allowed in future years.
Cars DO NOT need to be street legal (Tax and MOT), but cars should be streetable, i.e. lights (one can be removed for air induction), mirror/s, wiper/s, etc.
Tyre choice is restricted to treaded tyres for 4WD & RWD cars, and slicks are permitted for FWD cars.
Cars must retain original engine orientation but configuration can be changed.
ALL CARS ARE RUN AT THE RACE DIRECTORS DISCRETION.
ESC in 2010
Euro Sports Compact in 2010 will effectively allow Pro and Street cars to run together but in future years there will be multiple classes with any cars not retaining original floor plans and cars with tubed chassis running separately from cars with stock chassis.
By clicking the link below you can download the Euro Sports Compact Safety Rules based on the MSA White Book. These safety rules are intended as a guideline only and will not be rigorously enforced in 2010 (unless cars are deemed unsafe by the race director) but will be enforced in future years. However, we strongly advise all competitors to have roll cages and safety equipment installed to these recognized drag racing specifications:

ESC in 2011
Guidelines for the 2011 season are now available separated into Proposed General Safety Regulations. and Proposed Class Guidelines. These guidelines won’t be hard and fast rules and you can still race using the same spec car as you have now. However, we wanted to create awareness of the plans right now to ensure there is plenty of time to get ready. There will be four proposed classes:
FWD - Streetable FWD cars
Street - Streetable 4WD & RWD cars
Fac Mod - Highly Modified FWD, 4WD & RWD cars
Pro - Full Race Cars, FWD, 4WD & RWD
The four different classes listed in the guidelines will, in the first few years, be split into just two classes: FWD and the other three combined. Only once we have enough cars in each class will they be spilt, but this may be some years off.
ESC in 2012
For the 2012 season the Guidelines turn into Rules and Regulations and full MSA licences for the competitors and series will be needed (Just like the HKS Drag Series).
Download 2011/2012 Proposed General Safety Regulations.
Download 2011/2010 Proposed Class Guidelines.
These General Safety Regulations (GSRs) are standards laid out by the MSA and are a set of construction legislations applicable to all drag racing classes, with rules dependant on your speed and elapsed times.
The Class Guidelines are a set of proposed rules that will be subject to ongoing scrutiny before implementation. This should give you enough time to plan any new car build and/or modifications so they conform to what will become Rules and Regulations.
